Atelier Oikawa Iizuka is a Tokyo- and Nagano-based architectural design practice founded by Hikaru Oikawa and Ruriko Iizuka. We believe that architecture should exist within nature–not against it.
One could think of architecture as drawing a line that is shaped by the nature being–plants, weather, shadows, family, animals, history. Through this, we seek to evoke a sense of both tension and beauty. To us, architecture is that line. AOI strives to enrich life by uncovering an aesthetic born from the delicate balance between architecture and nature.
